Robin Widdup
Executive Chairman
Robin Widdup has over 40 years of industry experience. He graduated from Leeds University in 1975 with an Honours Degree in Geology. From 1986 to 1997 Robin worked as an Analyst and Manager for J B Were & Sons – Resource Research team. Robin founded Lion Selection Group and Lion Manager in 1997.
Robin is Chairman of PhosCo Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of One Asia Resources Limited.
Chris Melloy
Non-Executive Director
Chris Melloy is a mining engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the mining industry in operations, securities analysis and investment. He held senior positions in MIM and JB Were & Son prior to joining Lion.
Chris has served on many of Lion’s investee boards as a Non-Executive Director.
Chris was an Executive Director of Lion Manager from its inception in 1997 through to 2011, becoming a Non-Executive Director of Lion on 1 November 2012.
Peter Maloney
Non-Executive Director
Peter Maloney has broad commercial, financial and management expertise and experience. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of Lion and an Executive Director of Lion Manager. Prior to that he held senior executive positions with WMC Resources and a number of other companies.
Peter has been Chairman and Non-Executive Director of a number of organisations and ASX mining companies.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from University of Rochester. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Peter has been a Non-Executive Director of Lion since December 2010, including serving as Chairman between January 2012 and February 2016.
Hedley Widdup
Chief Executive Officer
Hedley graduated as a geologist with first class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000. Hedley has a background in mine and resource geology having worked at some of Australia’s largest mines with WMC, Xstrata and Goldfields prior to joining Lion in 2007.
In 17 years he has worked across the Lion portfolio in Australia, Africa and Asia as well as managing the investor relations function. He has become a noted mining industry commentator, he is Chairman of Lion’s unlisted investment Plutonic Limited, Non-Executive Director of Canadian listed Erdene Resource Development Corp, and Volunteer Member of the Melbourne Mining Club Steering Committee.
Craig Smyth
Chief Financial Officer
Craig graduated from the Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration and completed his Masters of Applied Finance at the University of Melbourne.
Craig has 19 years resources experience since joining Lion in 2005 as Financial Controller, before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Craig is a Chartered Accountant with a commercial background out of Coopers & Lybrand, Credit Suisse First Boston, ANZ and Telstra. Craig is the interim Chief Financial Officer of Lion investee PhosCo Ltd and has represented Lion on the Pani Joint Venture and within Nusantara Resources Limited.
Jane Rose
Investor Relations Manager and Company Secretary
Jane Rose has extensive experience across the legal and resources sectors having held senior administrative positions with Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Nabarro Nathanson and AngloGold Ashanti Limited where she was responsible for the management of various corporate initiatives and special projects.
From 2002 to 2006, Jane worked for several Lion investees including MPI Mines Ltd, Leviathan Resources and Indophil Resources. In 2007 Jane joined Lion as Corporate Relations Manager and in November 2008 was appointed Investor Relations Manager and Company Secretary.
